The movie didn’t get released, so Shetty made her acting debut in the thriller Baazigar by Abbas-Mustan, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The movie, which took inspiration from the Hollywood movie A Kiss Before Dying, included Shetty in a supporting role as Seema Chopra, a girl who is killed by her vengeful boyfriend, played by Khan. Three of Shetty’s movies were released in 1994. The action drama Aag, in which she had her first leading part, was her debut release that same year. Shetty played Bijli, a country belle disguised as a plainclothes police officer tasked with apprehending a killer (played by Govinda) at all costs. The movie also starred Govinda and Sonali Bendre.
She made her reality television debut in 2006 by serving as a judge on the dance competition Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
